About this painting
The word Espiègle translates to “cheeky.” Which is exactly how my friends in Australia would describe this pink galah. A galah is a common cockatoo bird, which means they are showing up in urban areas and people’s balconies as well as the outback. They are the naughtier, more colorful version of a pigeon here in the states. I wanted to capture they’re big personality and beautiful plumage.
