About this painting
Seagulls are absolute survivors. Just like pigeons (another favorite subject of mine), seagulls have thrived alongside human development, not despite it. These birds are scrappy, resilient, loud, assertive, and utterly fearless. But they also have an air of comical scrutiny. I love that they carry expressions of deep curiosity wrapped in permanent judgement. It might be what I like most about them.
